Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the game's launch, to players developing firm opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a blend of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, offering an constant fountain of gossip to those who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's incredibly easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds quite similar to a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most sensitive member of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often getting absorbed in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to make a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, based on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant acid reflux. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s just like the symbol a Virgo sends to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this sweet, empathetic creature, who uses the sensors on its ears to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. However, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to stress even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through pure hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio loves karma and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some version of a “playful small jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Aloof air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire placement that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting presence is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
