England’s men’s team will embark on their 2028 European Championship campaign at the Etihad Stadium, on the condition that they achieve the anticipated entry for a competition staged throughout most of the United Kingdom and the Ireland.

City’s stadium has not welcomed an England men’s game since eight years ago, when the visitors were defeated 2-1 in a friendly, but is highly likely to stage the England side for their first match on June 10, 2028.

England are scheduled to play their last two group stage games at Wembley Stadium, but, if they top Group B, their last-16 tie would occur at Newcastle’s St James’ Park. Placing second would mean commencing the playoffs at Everton’s ground.

Aston Villa’s stadium and Spurs’ ground complete the nine tournament locations. Each one will hold at least one playoff fixture, with the last eight played at the national stadium of each host.

The qualifying draw will be conducted in Belfast, which was dropped as a tournament location last year when it emerged the Belfast stadium could not be upgraded in time, on a date in late 2026.
