Manchester United v Brighton – English top flight Match Report

Match Preview

The Red Devils, coming off victories against Sunderland and Liverpool, are targeting a trio of victories on the bounce this evening. Confidence is high managed by Ruben Amorim for the very first time!

Only problem is, their visitors tonight come from the south coast, with victories in their previous three visits at the Theatre of Dreams, winning six from seven fixtures head-to-head.

Never mind the wind behind; Brighton have found it’s been a breeze. That said, Brighton themselves remain famously erratic like United, so this game is competing and maybe rollickingly good entertainment.

Start time is 5.30 in the evening a final reminder for now as the clocks go back this evening, folks. Game on!

Selection Changes

Manchester United make two changes following the Anfield triumph against Liverpool. Benjamin Šeško comes in replacing Mount, relegated to the bench, while last week’s win-securing hero Maguire is absent at all, Leny Yoro taking his place in defence.

An issue arose during training this week. Tyrell Malacia is named among the substitutes for the first time this season.

Brighton have made one change after their 2-1 home win over Newcastle. Likely a defensive move, swapping in Maxim De Cuyper instead of Gómez, now among the subs.

Welbeck, formerly of United that lifted the title back in 2013, visits his old club on a hot streak scoring four in three, exceeding his tally over his last 15 matches.

Build-Up

Amorim is unfazed for the opinions of Liverpool’s boss … yet Welbeck is mindful regarding the plans from the German coach.

Analysts have noted the fixture may influence for both teams’ seasons in the top flight campaign progresses.

Star performers are the captain from the hosts and Danny Welbeck from the away side, both in fine form in recent weeks.
