Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
