Passionate followers of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who jumped a barrier and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the Australian man shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being detained", though official papers revealed that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Express Concern Over the Star's Well-being

Many supporters blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more comment on Instagram.

A number of supporters also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded digital services to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

The musical itself is a derivative of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, securing a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
